Exodus to Infinity is the dramatic multi-genre recording project of Danny Mulligan. Danny is a largely self-taught multi-instrumentalist, composer, and producer with a degree in music composition from University of Wisconsin -Madison. He played in Trap Saturn, winner of MAMA’s 2015 Breakthrough Artist of the Year Award, and his a cappella arrangements have been nominated for Contemporary A Cappella Recording Awards and featured on the Best of College A Cappella album. Danny and Alex Wyler wrote the music for Sherwood Extreme by CAGEStudios, an arcade crossbow shooter game for Windows.
Archetype Asylum is an eclectic journey, and unsurprisingly, so is its creation story. It was patched together in Danny’s home studio over five years, surviving four moves, two years of grad school, and one hard drive crash. The project almost ended in January 2017 when the album, 75% complete, was lost forever. After months of mourning, Danny decided to redo everything with higher standards, and the music turned out stronger than ever. Using stylistic elements of progressive rock, metal, blues, jazz, EDM, pop, and classical music, Archetype Asylum explores the depths of the psyche via the psychology of Jung, Freud, and Lacan. It is a story of loss and growth through encounters with archetypal projections of the unconscious, reconciling light and shadow, candor and jest, fear and love.
